Episode 468 of the Church Solutions Podcast was a little different — and a lot of fun. With regular co-host Steve Lacy out, Phil Thompson was joined by someone even closer to home — his wife, Mary K. Together, they welcomed back a special guest: Angie Baughman, the founder of Steady On Ministries and leader of Steady On University.
This episode didn’t just shine a spotlight on Angie’s ministry — it gave listeners a heartfelt look at how digital tools are creating deep spiritual connections across time zones and life stages.
An Online Ministry with Deep Roots
Angie Baughman is no stranger to the Church Solutions Podcast. Her first visit back in 2022 (Episode 375) focused on overcoming trauma through faith — a conversation that led to her connection with Mary K. and eventually to a thriving friendship and partnership in ministry.
Today, Angie leads Steady On University, a unique online Bible study community designed to help women connect with God and each other through inductive Bible study methods. With her Step-by-Step Bible Study Method, Angie empowers women to dive deep into scripture using original language studies, word exploration, and loving accountability.
More Than Just a Study — It’s a Community
What sets Steady On apart isn’t just the curriculum — it’s the environment. Using platforms like Circle and Zoom, Angie has created a warm, welcoming virtual space where women from all over the country gather weekly. Whether it’s structured study or “Study Plus Chit Chat,” this digital community feels surprisingly personal.
Mary K. shared how impactful it’s been for her: “For the first time in my life, I feel like I can study the Bible on my own without extreme stress… It’s so safe, and I’ve built friendships that will last forever — even though I’ve never met most of these women in person!”
Accessible, Authentic, and Open to Growth
One of the most unique aspects of Steady On University is the internship program, where women contribute to the ministry while receiving mentorship in areas like writing, podcasting, website design, and more. It’s more than volunteering — it’s about discovering and developing your gifts.
“Anything I’ve learned in online ministry, I want to pass on,” said Angie. “We work hard to make sure our interns grow personally and professionally while serving the kingdom.”
Mary K. , now an intern herself, described how a simple podcast connection turned into a life-giving ministry role: “At first, I thought I’d just help with the newsletter. But once I stepped into the community, I couldn’t stop. I’ll do anything to be a part of it.”
Creating Virtual Hospitality
As a former pastor, Angie sees her calling not just in teaching but in creating safe spaces for spiritual growth — even online. From affirming every participant to facilitating deeper connection, she brings intentionality to every Zoom room.
“We’re not just logging in and out — we’re building something real.”
